DOES EVERYONE START OUT IN THE SAME PLACE?
The newly marooned always wash up on a random shoreline of Huvadhu Atoll. Members only: you are here.

CAN I PLAY A PAST/FUTURE VERSION OF A CHARACTER?
Characters' physical manifestation, affecting both age and skills, is bound to a strong emotional climax of the player's choice.

HOW CANON IS THIS GAME?
The game is canon in the sense that characters are built on their intrinsic personality template, but they are also defined by the emotional point at which they manifest. How the character develops on the islands is up to you, the player, to suss out. Can heroes turn into villains and vice versa? Absolutely. Good characters are no less susceptible to evil deeds, villains have the opportunity to redeem themselves and new alliances will be found in the most unlikely places.

HALP, WHAT'S WITH THE MEMORY LOSS?
Characters retain all practical knowledge, but not personal memories. They are essentially 'erased slates.' Without life experiences and personal ties to guide them, are they still the same person? That is the question you must answer.

OH, OKAY. WILL THEY EVER REMEMBER AGAIN?
There will be disjointed flashbacks, preceded by debilitating headache and nausea. The mods will choose at random who is affected and by how much. What is remembered within those constraints is up to the player, and can cover anything mentioned in canon, ever.

THE CHARACTERS HAVE WEIRD NAMES?
Well, if the castaways don't know who they are, what do we call them? Conveniently, they find in their pockets an identity card bearing their de facto alias. The names are chosen at random (by the player), so related characters will not necessarily share family names.

WHAT ELSE DO THEY HAVE ON THEM?
Characters arrive with any personal possessions of sentimental (or survival) value that they always carry on their person. For instance, wedding bands would fall under this category, but not mobile phones.

WHAT ABOUT CHARACTERS WITH SPECIAL POWERS?
Characters' natural abilities are unaffected. Like all practical knowledge, however, they will not be aware of these potentials until they are triggered by need.

WHAT ABOUT CHARACTERS WITH GOD-LIKE POWERS?
There are no limitations on powers, other than that they cannot escape the islands, for the simple fact that there is no world existing outside of it. Some characters may even shape and reshape the islands as they see fit, provided that it is first cleared with the moderators. Please note that godmodding and character deaths without advanced consultation will not be tolerated under any circumstances.

HOW ARE CHARACTER DEATHS DEALT WITH?
Characters who meet an untimely end will die normally. Twenty-four hours into postmortem, their body will vanish and they will wash up on the shores again, remembering everything up to and including their death.

HOW DO PLAYED-BY WORK?
Because this is an experiment in the human condition, the islands prescribe a humanoid form for all castaways. (This includes cybernetic lifeforms and human vessels. For instance, Terminators or demons possessing human bodies would be acceptable, but not Xenomorphs from AVP or the Na'vi from Avatar. When in doubt, just ask!) PBs should be canon wherever applicable and must be a real person. Duplicate PBs are permitted if and only if they are represented by the same actor in the source material and will be perceived in-character as bearing similarities but not as being exactly alike.

Because the characters have no concrete memories, their defining emotion is basically what will eclipse their general temperament and drive their actions on the islands. How they interact with other characters, what they do, how they behave, all of these will be strongly, but not exclusively, influenced by this emotion. This is especially evident in new arrivals, but it is the aim for long-time residents to find a way to resolve these feelings, be it in a positive or a negative way.

In regards to powers, they are something that needs to be discovered as the characters go along!

It's no bother! The game is set in an uninhabited version of the Maldives, so you can use this page as a reference for local wildlife.

Yes, we have a bank of plots to be implemented at regular intervals. But our ears are always open to player voices!

We require real person played-bys.

I think that would be fine, but let me consult my co-mod and get back to you on that!

If the character's death is part of canon, then that is the full expanse of their life. However, their emotional point does not have to be their moment of finality! Any moment that holds a significant emotional meaning for them is acceptable.

That would depend on the emotional point chosen for them! If they were physically supernatural at that point, then yes, that would be the case.
